One of the best early 1970s out there - beautiful & rich sound. Quite vivid indeed. Wonderful and colourful laminated gatefold cover included. :D
Mine came with plain paper inner-sleeve and with no cut-outs but the sound quality compensates.
Would highly recommend! :)

Nearest I can find, has YEX 637-2 on side 1 with T A and 3 4 at right angles across.
Side 2 has YEX 638-3, HTM hand written with 2 and AD at right angles across.
Given up trying to find the right version, it would help if i could remember which decade i bought it in. Gatefold, must have had a plain white liner as I replaced the paper liner with a poly lined version [which I've been doing forever, if its a plain liner I dump it]

As a mater of fact, I find that release not worthy for it's cost. But hey, this was 50th special edition for this wonderful album so, it has to be purchased. Comparing the original relaeses that I have in my collection, I don't need to listen this release. Just a additional record to my collection.

Well, well, well... it's 50 years after, right ?Who in their right mind did have any decent hi-fi home equipment to listen to when this was first released ?Hardly anyone !But hey, here's a son of George Martin ( was he there when it was recorded ? ), who happen to have a famous father( who did the job, by the way ! ) and many people do have access to a decent hi-fi and need something( lgendary & hyped, if possible ) to listen to.And there is a money to be get in a process, right ?Well, if you have money to burn...it's yours anyway, OK ?

What, are you kidding? Way more people had proper stereos then than they do now. Hardly anyone has a hi-fi nowadays, except audiophiles. When I was a kid in the sixties and seventies, almost every household had a hi-fi. There were no Walkmans, iPods, computer speakers, or any of the things most people use for music nowadays. You could have a transistor radio, but at home, you had a stereo.
Rocksmith
Stunning clarity, and noticeably different. After several listens to familiarize with the new mix, it really is a joy!

For those in the US -- this seems to have gone out of print. Before you order one overseas, it is worth checking Best Buy out of all places. You can check their inventory for this record online. A couple of stores near me still have some in stock.
Djang
the single LP versions is still relatively easy to find. I think the OP was talking about this press in particular. Either way they both sound great, and the outtakes in the 2nd LP aren't essential.
Oghmaghma
This was super clutch, I'm adding it to my cart right now. Thanks!!Should also mention it's for the single LP version, not the double LP.
Qiahmagha
Mistake!I only have the Anniversary edition with one LP.But the mix should be the same.
generation of new
I am very disappointed by this mix!I compared this edition with the original PCS 7027 and the German Odeon SHZE 401 from 1967.This version sounds much deeper and bass heavier than the old ones. The highs are strongly reduced. The record is also quieter than the old ones. The old editions have a driving, forward pushing sound. This edition is perfect in sound but loses the character of the old pressings.During the whole time I had the feeling as if the record is played a little bit too slowly.

Terrible mix. Much too loud. Avoid this one and get the mono version.
Mr_Jeйson
The single disc version from Quality Record Press is very good.
Qumen
"get the mono version." lol, can you believe people still peddle this rubbish?

Now THIS is a remaster! The original stereo mix of Sgt. Pepper had significant issues, none of which enter into this new master, and overall, this is just a flawless piece of vinyl (or two). They went all out with this remaster, and this release in general. From the 1/2-speed mastering to the sturdy recreation of the original sleeve. The second LP is an excellent companion, and it's always great to hear Beatles sessions, particularly remastered Beatles sessions. But the real treasure here is Giles Martin's 50th anniversary remaster of the original LP. The precise and dynamic presence of each instrument is remarkable, and reverent of the original mono mix, but expanding it to a whole new level of sonic depth and clarity. Seldom do remasters truly astonish me. Frankly, they're more likely to frustrate, or downright infuriate me, than to impress, let alone astonish. The new stereo mix of Sgt. Pepper is nothing short of astonishing.
JoJolar
I completely agree! I was blown away with this one , incredible remix, never sounded more "alive"!
mIni-Like
It is NOT a remaster, it is a REMIX. That's a huge difference and the two shouldn't be confused
Ylonean
Whoa, now this is different! Mono, “Look oooouuut! Cause here she comes!...She ain’t no dancer!”. Giles goes boldly where George never had to, “fixing a hole where the rain got in”, in Stereo that is! “Sgt. Pepper...” in Stereo finally sounds right, standing toe to toe with it’s counterpart in Mono.
Axebourne
This honestly sounds fantastic, just read the other posts to get the gist of it, one complaint though is that there’s a warp, it doesn’t effect the sound, but it’s still scary. I don’t know if the dog whistle works though, next time I can here my neighbor’s dog outside I’ll play it with the window open and update yall on it.
Kazimi
Excellent version! The stereo remixes are much better than the original stereo mixes. Totally clean pressing as well. The Studio Sessions LP is a nice novelty. The main attraction here is the fantastic stereo remix LP. Giles Martin has done it again!
Auridora
Wow! This really is fantastic! My only criticism is that it's been mastered very slightly on the bright side of neutral. But to be honest that may have more to do with the current characteristics of my system than the record. It really is a thing of beauty and I'd recommend that every collector own a copy.
Peras
Must agree with what others have said, my uk copy sounds absolutely fantastic, totally clean, no pops or clicks, good volume, excellent sq. This is how vinyl should always be!
THOMAS
My copy sounds amazing. No noise and the mix is actually different from previous versions. It's more like the Cirque du Soleil mix.
Eigeni
Fantastic remix but awful pressing. The record is a little bit warped and you can hear a rumble on silent places of the record. The record is probably warped because there are a lot of materials and second record in very tiny cover.Don't see the necessity for a second record just to raise a price of the album.Who will listen to it more than once?It will be a better that there is instead of record some booklet with photographies and stories about the album.Shame on the record plant!
Budar
"Who will listen to it more than once"? Lots of folks! I think it's very kool to have extras, and on vinyl.

I just received and played my USA copy, manufactured in E.U. (which I suppose may be a historical artifact if the Manufacture was in the UK and not in Europe, re: Brexit) I opted for this vinyl version because my CD player is out of service and I don't currently own a DVD nor Blue Ray player for the 6-disk cd set. I will get that later. Upon playing this vinyl set I was delighted. I had never listened to the previously released mono version so I didn't have anything to compare this with other than the 1967 US stereo vinyl and the 2009 remastered CD and 50 years of having this album ingrained on my brain. So, while listening and expecting parts of the music to be where I normally listen to them to appear, I was pleasantly surprised to hear new things that I had previously missed or that sounded new (a different angle) to me. It was like getting a new Beatles album. I am also pleased with the tone of the vinyl. Most striking are the drums being brighter and more up front, the tone and placement of the bass and clarity of background vocals. Also various instruments, especially guitar, that seem new. I gave this release ***** stars. I will comment on individual songs later.
Bodwyn
When ringo hits that bass drum on Lucy in the sky...oooooooh weeeee!

My copy seems to have a pressing issue. My tone arm moves dramatically from side to side as the record plays. The label shifts the same as the arm. Doesn't seem to affect the sound . Does anyone notice this issue? The sound is awesome on this record. Super quiet. The mix is louder. More drums. Deafening, droning, single note on the piano during Getting Better. Seriously, it was hurting my ears! I like the louder drum mix. Vocals and harmonies jump out of the speakers. Beautiful! The stereo pan is evened out. A little more centered than the 2009 mix. A kind of like the wide pan on 2009 a little better. Maybe because I'm used to it..? Great detail to the packaging. This album was created for us Beatles heads to enjoy, so listen and have fun!!!
Anarahuginn
You got a bad pressing. Return it and get a new one.
Anicasalar
Yup. First one I got was pressed a little off center, second one I got off center too, but not as bad as the first. Kept the 2nd one, didn't affect sound. Hate seeing the tonearm wobble tho

I just received my UK copy and I'm listening to it as I'm reviewing it. I have 5 different copies of various mixes and editions through the years. This version is hands down a version that needs to be in your collection if you're a fan. Its like listening to it the first time all over again! I love it. Wished I would've bought 2 cause I'm going to wear this one out :-)
Kerry
Hah ! I did buy two copies ;) Keeping one sealed.
Umdwyn
So I compared the two Sgt Peppers. The best I can say is that they are different. The new release is much more polished, less hiss and sibilance for example, but also less dynamic range. That is very visible looking at the two different wav files side by side. Side 1 can be a tossup but for side 2, I'll take the 1976 GB pressing. Within You Without You is way better on the earlier pressing and a little detail like the alarm clock in A Day In The Life is more present in the earlier release. The 1976 release is both brighter and bigger in the overall soundstage.Overall, the 50th is really nice, not disappointed, but not a must have just for the sound given the earlier release, which was a serious effort to reissue it using the best there was in the prime time of vinyl without the bs that comes with trying to keep up with demand when it first came out. Now the master tapes are 40 years older and it may show more than we would want to admit. All that said, if you don't have a quality earlier release, buy this, its worth it.I have the White Album from the same GB series and don't think I'll get the new one, given what it will probably cost and hearing the difference with Sgt Pepper. Magical Mystery Tour I might get because it would be a 100 % true stereo release. There never was one issued before in the US, including the 1981 MFSL pressing.
DarK-LiGht
While the overall mix and mastering is superb, still sounds weird hearing the record like this, I prefer the mono version, however Fixing A Hole sounds truly amazing on this stereo cut and this version is by no means bad, some parts sound incredible
Globus
Astonishing record. I did not think it possible that a new Beatles record could surprise me, but this one could. The new mix is really great and is what it should have been for a long time. At least from the moment they began to remaster the record.I bought the Mono version a few years ago, which is also good, but this one stands in its own category. It is simply amazing.Beside the fabulous new mix it is also dead silent. No click, pop or hiss on the record. It could well be the best album on vinyl I have in my collection.I'm looking forward to what they'll be doing with "The White album" next year. Keep up the good work!
porosh
The left channel has a little more power than the right channel. Has anyone noticed it? Is it a defective of my copy? Thx
Zepavitta
No not defective. Its the way it was mixed. Not very different from the original mix in this regard. Numbers don't always mean what they infer.
Liarienen
Beautifully remastered. Virtually no surface noise on the vinyl. I really don't have enough superlatives for how good this sounds. Worth every penny.
Geny
Ain't that the truth. My copies just arrived and I'll be slicing the shrink shortly. Gonna rip once out of the sleeve and after a proper cleaning on the VPI and compare.
Hawk Flying
It's NOT remastered. It's remixed. Big difference, but many people don't seem to understand ...
Miromice
Where do Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields appear? I don't have this yet, but can someone update the tracklisting to reflect this release?
Pooker
They only appear on the 2 CD version and the 6 CD 'Super Deluxe' version.
Zetadda
They are on the deluxe box set, but not the 2 LP version. LP 2 of the 2 LP edition is outtakes and alternate takes of the album.
WOGY
Absolutely fantastic! I was skeptical of this release just being a cash grab, but I was so wrong. The new mix sounds incredible! I have never heard The Beatles like this before. This may not have been how the Beatles "intended" it, and I get it. . . I own the Mono release from a few years ago and it sounds fantastic in its own right. The thing is this mix creates a spaciousness, depth and clarity to the recordings that I have never experienced before. Paul's bass sounds stunning. Close your eyes and you can imagine the band right in front of you. I did not notice any pressing issues with my copy. This is worth picking up for any Beatles fan, or fan of music. You won't be disappointed. My only minor complaint would be the price of this album.
Vivados
Brian Wilson must be even more disappointed (or delighted) because this new mix. :-)
Samugul
This stereo remix is fantastic. Mastered & pressed beautifully as well. 50 years ago indeed...
Iseared
It's at 33 rpm Ed. I've just replayed A1 and can't hear a pop on my copy at the point you mentioned breakawayrecords.
Perongafa
is it a 45rpm or 33 rpm? 45rpm is a pain…
Ballagar
Spend the money on this record, it's better than wasting it on drugs....beautiful stereo sound!!!
Uaha
Has anyone come across a defect on A1 about 3/4 of the way through the song where they sing "It's wonderful to be here..." there is a pop on "it's"? I opened 5 copies. 4 popped at that same point and one skipped.
Lo◘Ve
My copy does not have a pop or skip in that place.
Fani
My open copy is clean. Very nice and quiet.
